I think a lot of people are thinking quite negatively about this video. Yes you may never experience this in your life time, yes when virtual reality comes some people will take that over their real life. But remember that too everything there is a positive side. Look at the technology that is being developed today that is getting us closer to virtual reality. I'm quite amazed that I'll be living when something like this is fully immersive. When we play a video game or use social media in VR we will feel real human interaction, we will feel these experience as if they were real, even if they are not possible in the real world.
The man that works 8 hours a day that comes home to nothing but internet and TV that's severely depressed can now be happy. Your grandmother in a nursing home that wanted to experience more in life can now be happy. That boy that wants to be spider man can now do that. The list goes on and on with the amount of positive things that can come out of this and focusing on the possibility of a few negative things are foolish to say the least.
Now I'm not saying this should replace your real life but its really no different to what people are doing now. Spending most of your day looking at your phone, monitor , TV and or playing video games is no different...
