3.2.2. Isothermal decay method
Isothermal decay method based on recording the decay of luminescence
intensity with respect to time at a constant temperature.
Different temperatures are chosen on the low temperature side of
the peak (T « Tm). After irradiation, the sample is quickly heated to
the chosen temperature and kept at this temperature for a specific
time. Luminescence intensity, which decays exponentially, is recorded
as a function of time. This experimental cycle is repeated
for each chosen temperature [29].
The luminescence intensity can be described for general order
kinetics;
