The water resistance was tested by submersing the briquettes in water and determining
the percentage mass lost during the process. Initial moisture of briquettes was
low (below 3%), and, during submersion, the briquettes degraded in the sequential
process as the briquette swells and disintegrates. Briquettes are considered to be
water resistant if they do not disintegrate or remain intact after at least 30 minutes
to an hour in water.
