Comparatively few ecological and water quality data are available from
the Far Northern GBR, the only inshore region where
risk of exposure to terrestrial runoff is considered minimal (Fig.1).
However,water column chlorophyll a concentrations, monitored in the GBR since 1992 as proxy
measure for nutrient concentrations, show that chloro-
