God made us with free will for a reason. I personally think that He did it in order to know that we would voluntarily put our faith in Him rather than forcing us to do it whether we wanted to or not, but as a human still on earth, I cannot be certain about anything except for my religion. The important thing about this free will is that we not misuse it. When things distract us from Him, we start to misuse our free will more and more. A good way to think about this is to imagine an anchored boat on a rope. The anchor is God, and you are the boat. The rope represents the bond between you and Him. The longer that rope gets, the more effort and time it takes to get the rope short again, and the more you can sway from that anchor. The important thing to learn here is that if you are constantly putting your faith in God, your rope is very short, meaning that you can't sway so easily. The way to achieve this is by resisting hate, fear, temptation, and putting other things, even important or good things, before God. So when you read this, I ask that you think about it
"Do I want to be the boat on the long rope, doing what I want, or do I want to be the boat on the short rope, where mine and God's intentions are not only the same, but also possible?"
