You are receiving this e-mail due to an increasing number of Ransomware infections that are currently affecting Deutsche Post DHL Group's personal computers and thus impacting our business.
Ransomware is, in short, a type of malware that restricts access to your computer (or sectors of it) and demands a ransom to be paid for the restriction to be removed. Ransomware is spread by phishing and spam e-mails, malicious website links, attachments or downloads.
The holiday season with its increased online shopping activities is also a peak time for cybercrime: millions of malicious spam e-mails are being sent, often “disguised” as package delivery announcements, greeting cards or order confirmations from leading online shops.
Many of them try to trick the recipient into opening an attached document or clicking on a link in order to install Ransomware on the recipient’s computer. Deutsche Post DHL Group has repeatedly been a target of such attacks, which represent a significant threat to our IT systems, data and our entire business.
