It is reported that there are over 100,000 commercially available dyes with a production of over
7h105 metric tonnes per year [1]. Industries such as textile, leather, paper, plastics, etc., are some of the
sources for dye effluents [2]. The released dye in water streams represents a risk of ecotoxicity and a
potential danger of bioaccumulation [3]. Methylene blue is not regarded as acutely toxic, but it can have
various harmful effects.
