The baht's volatility is expected to continue in the coming months, with the currency's movements taking cues from external and internal factors such as Thailand's economic situation and the US Federal Reserve's interest rate moves.
The current range of 33.40-33.50 baht to the US dollar reflects a satisfactory level among currency traders because it has remained steady for several days, said Chantavarn Sucharitakul, an assistant governor of the financial markets operations group at the Bank of Thailand.
Thai exporters should reap at least a 2% benefit from the weakening baht when they convert the dollar to the local currency, she said.
