I work for an American bank in Tokyo, so I speak English every day. I studied English for eight years at school and college, and I use it every day, so my English
is OK-but I still find some things difficult. English pronunciation is difficult for me-and for lots of Japanese people. The sound 'th' is hard-we don't have this sound in Japanese. And I find it hard to say 'l' and 'r', too. I think people at the bank understand me, though. When I started learning English, I made mistakes with nouns, adjectives and adverbs-often it's the same word in Japanese-so i'd say 'Tokyo is a very safety city' instead of 'Tokyo is a very safe city'. I don't often make that kind of mistake now, though.
One more thing-English is everywhere in Japan! I read advertisements and everything I see in English. It helps me remember words.
