While channel managers cannot be expected to be expert in the technicalities and nuances involved in the complex and changing legal environment affecting channel management, general knowledge and awareness of some of the basic laws and legal issues are needed. In particular, channel managers should be familiar with the basic provision of the Sherman Act, Clayton Act, Federal Trade Commission Act, Robinson-Patman Act and the Celler-Kefauver Act.
