Toward the end of the second day I was asked to meet with the manager of the
CPI as well as two other managers that reported to him directly. In this meeting I was
assigned to look at the first section of the instructional production value stream at the
CPI. This section is called the STRIB process. All training that impacts one or more of the site area directors (SAD) is said to cross SAD lines. When this happens the training
must be reviewed and approved by the site-wide training review of and implementation
board (STRIB). This is a committee that has expertise in training matters (see Appendix
C). The INEEL requires that those interested in creating training that may affect more
than one SAD follow the site-wide training analysis and implementation procedure
carefully. The STRIB oversees proper selection and design of training materials. As part
of the site-wide training analysis and implementation procedure a training analyst works
with the requestor of training to determine the training need.
