Emotional resonance the ability to grasp what motivates others and appeal effectively to it is most important in the United States and Europe, but does not currently appear as a significant element of Asian executive style, where the aspiration of masses of people for a higher living standard provides strong work-oriented motivation as a general matter of course. But as living standards in Asia improve and knowledge workers become more important the ability of executives to motivate employees will become more important will understanding them (emotional resonance).
