3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and their sulfur analogs
(DHPMs) have been reported to possess diverse
pharmacological activities such as antiviral, antibacterial
and antihypertensive activity,1 as well as efficacy as
calcium channel modulators and 1a-antagonists.2 The
biological activity of some alkaloids isolated recently has
also been attributed to the dihydropyrimidinone moiety.
