Maruekhathaiyawan Summer Palace is located almost halfway between Cha-Am and Hua Hin in Petchaburi province some 10 kilometers South of Cha-Am and 15 kilometers North of Hua Hin inside the Rama VI army camp.
Maruekhathaiyawan Palace direct meaning is “the palace of love and hope”. This summer palace situates between Cha-am and Hua Hin. The palace was built by royal command of King Rama VI in 1923, by harmonious blend of Thai and European architecture. King Rama VI used the Palace, which name is also written as Marukhathaiyawan or Mrigadayavan, as a summer residence for him and other members of the Royal Family until his death in 1925. This is one of the many attractive places in Thailand that is a must to visit. This teakwood treasure (known for convenience as "The Wooden Palace") stands on Hua Hin beachfront and now restored. It is proudly billed as "The Longest Golden Teak Palace in the World".
