Molecular beam sampling mass spectrometry (MBMS) is applied to investigate the detailed influence of the addition
of ferrocene (Fe(C5
H5)
2 ) on a low-pressure fuel-rich laminar premixed propene/oxygen/argon flat flame and the
results are compared with numerical modeling. It is found experimentally that the flame velocity is reduced and also
the peak concentrations of several intermediates are influenced, while the numerical modelling predicts much
smaller effects for this rich stoichiometry.
