“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different” stated the legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel. This quote has become my most important rule of how I should live my life. I always aware that, I have a great passion for created my design to be unique. I started discover this urge to set my life path in fashion field while I was doing the student exchange program in the United State. I am fortunate to go to a high school that is provide a fashion design course, which is influenced me to continue study fashion design in the university later.
After I graduated my Bachelor degree of Fine Arts, with the Second Class Honors, in Fashion Design from Srinakarinwiroj University, which is the best and the oldest Fashion School in Thailand, I have found my specialty for talent in the field of textile development. As the result in my thesis graduation, I did a research focus on the tradition Thai Embroidery, which is originally used only for embroiling the clothes for the members of Thai Royal family and for the traditional Thai Performance call “Khon”. I have study this traditional embroidery technique and develop it to apply in the contemporary fashion clothing.
The feedback from my thesis collection is very well rewarded, one of my outfit get selected to be a cover for “My World” magazine September issue 2013, and my thesis collection also received the honored to be the top five of fashion design thesis in the Degree Showcase. This is the competition that searching for the best graduation project in the Visual Art Design field from the universities all over the country. This competition has given me the opportunity to promote my talents and led me the chance to work for the Thai fashion brands such as designing a capsule collection for the “Iconic Tokyo”, and started the first collection with the upcoming brand called “King Kan”.
For a year that I am continuing my career as a freelance designer for a few brands in Bangkok, until finally I decided to start my own brand call “Curse Wear”. This decision has become a major step that changing my design philosophy, to combine the street wear and the craftsmanship together, by using my specialty of talent for textile development to create the stunning print and embroidery in all my designs. Luckily, my brand has received many good responds such as get selected to be on the cover for “Kullastree” magazine April issue 2014, and also get published in several others magazines such as “Touch”, “Solid”, “Sudsapda”, and “HI”.
It has been almost a year since I decided to start my own brand, and in order to develop it to become more unique and irreplaceable, I have to try my best and create the outstanding design to compete with other brand competitors. The master degree in Fashion Design at Domus Academy is exactly the institute that is going to be able to provide me the knowledge for develop the skill and ability to transform my Curse Wear, and enhance it to become one of the kind, unique, most irreplaceable street brand in Thailand.
