To maximize the effect of traditional knowledge in Thai fruit and vegetable carving, seasonal, colourful and
suitable materials must be chosen for inclusion in the displays. Artisans, both designers and sculptors, must
continually develop their artistic signature to remain modern. All designs must be based on the simple and
efficient traditional knowledge passed from generation to generation. At an institutional level, fruit and vegetable
carving must be promoted as an important part of Thai cultural heritage and a viable vehicle for the preservation
of Thai identity worldwide.
