Although, the
acetic acid in the diets might influence pH of feed, the action
on pH in the intestine was insignificant due to the buffering
capacity of the body (our unpublished data), thus acetic
acid from bamboo vinegar in diets may not affect the fecal
bacterial communities of piglets. It is inferred that the effect
of bamboo vinegar on bacterial communities attributes to
the active components such as phenolic compounds in bamboo
vinegar
