Creating Ink and Braille Documents in Microsoft word:
Using Microsoft Word and the ViewPlus Formatter, you can easily create documents in ink and braille with the touch of a button. Then, print your documents using the Pro with Ink Attachment or Emprint from ViewPlus. You can also use the interline function to view the original text above braille for ViewPlus embossers without ink.
1. Create the Document and Adjust Settings
Open or create a document that you want to print in ink and braille.
To adjust settings go to the TIGER menu and select FORMATTER SETTINGS (Alt+G then F).
Next, select the BRAILLE AND INK SETTINGS... button within the Formatter Settings. Then check the INTERLINE ORIGINAL TEXT box and make any changes to the size or style of the font that you would like.
2. Translate Document
After activating the INTERLINE ORIGINAL TEXT feature, it is time to format the docu- ment. Go back to the TIGER menu and select TRANSLATE DOCUMENT (Alt+G then T).
If you only want a portion of the document formatted, highlight the area and select FOR- MAT SELECTION on the TIGER menu (Alt +G then S).
Editing the Document: When using interline text, most of the document editing should
be done before translation. If you want to make major adjustments, reload your original document from the TIGER menu (Alt + G then RELOAD ORIGINAL DOCUMENT) and make the changes. This is only an option if you have saved your original document before you did the translation. Then choose TRANSLATE DOCUMENT (Alt + G then T) again.
HINT: Some people find that choosing APPLY TIGER LAYOUT from the Tiger Menu gives a better idea of what the document will look like after translation.
3. Printing the Document
After you are done editing, prepare to print by selecting PRINT from the FILE menu. Make sure ViewPlus Pro Ink or Emprint is selected.
From the print dialog box choose PROPERTIES then the TIGER tab. Make sure that the boxes marked EMBOSS and INK are both checked, choose OK to exit the PROPERTIES dialog
box. Choose OK again and your document will begin to print.
HINT: If you prefer to print a .prn to Tiger De- signer, see the “Printing to File” tutorial.
