About this project
WHO WE ARE AND WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
We’re a small community of independent filmmakers in Minnesota, doing our best to make entertaining films with the equipment and resources available to us. A local photography studio generously let us borrow essential equipment. Local musicians wrote and recorded an original soundtrack. A local recording studio is giving us a great discount on ADR and sound mastering. A local painter created a wonderful original piece for use as our movie poster. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created together right here in our own city, and we want to share our production with as many audiences as possible through film festivals nationwide.
ABOUT OUR FILM
Our movie poster is an original painting by local artist Andy Vercnocke

Trying to defeat months of depression and isolation after a breakup, Brad ventures to the city park in hopes of making some new friends. He finds more excitement than he bargained for when he encounters a creepy man in a trench coat, accidentally steals a mobster’s phone, and meets a mysterious — and cute — stranger along his way to recovery.
HOW WE’LL SPEND YOUR MONEY
We’re paying North Coast Productions for the ADR and final sound mastering services they provided, and we’re paying the the artist who created an original painting for use as our movie poster. We also want to submit our film to at least 5 festivals. The average festival submission fee is $35. If our goal is met, Kickstarter takes 5% and their payment processing partner takes another 4-5%. Our initial goal of $400 will settle our post-production bills and cover submission fees to 5 festivals. If we meet our stretch goal of $800, that will guarantee we can submit to 15 festivals! This film means a lot to each of us, and we want to be able to spread it to as many festivals as possible.
REWARDS
We really appreciate your help getting our film out there, so we want to share something extra with you in return. Exclusive posters, signed photos, special IMDb credits, and of course be one of the first people to see the film — before it’s publicly available!
If we meet our $800 stretch goal, we’ll mail handwritten “Thank you” notes on limited edition Down in the Park postcards to every backer who pledged $45 or more!

Risks and challenges
We applied everything we learned from our last production when making this film, and we’re so proud of the progress we’ve made in one year! Our full film is already completed. We just need a little help with funding so we can submit to many festivals, helping our film reach as wide an audience as possible.
Thanks so much for considering our production!
