I was camping with a good friend of mine. It was a secluded camp site with no electricity (except what we could siphon off the truck) and the running water was a nearby stream. A lot of fun things happened: We went fishing (which was technically illegally), we told stories, I discovered a strange obsession with chopping firewood. But best of all was when my friend and I sneaked back to our campsite, and away from pesky adults (I think we were 14 at the time) built a huge bonfire. I mean huge. We stacked 8″ diameter logs on top of each other, covered it in tinder, poured about 3 cans of gasoline on it, and lit it up. The fire got so hot, that glass bottles in the center of it were melted into puddles. I swear, aliens are going to come down some day and ask “Hey, who sent flare up way back when?” It was awesome.
