In the last year or so, Pinterest has become a great source of traffic if you know how to use it. The main reason people can't make Pinterest work can be summed up easily - they're thinking like affiliates and not Pinterest users. What I mean is, they pin a bunch of stuff and wonder why they don't get any traffic. To succeed with Pinterest, you have to think and act like a Pinterest user. I've found this is much easier for girls to do than it is guys. Girls seems to really be able to get in the mindset of a Pinterest user, while guys struggle. I suggest spending some time browsing Pinterest and really studying what gets pinned, repinned, commented on, etc. What do the people with lots of followers and comments do? What are they pinning?
I suggest pinning about 60% non affiliate stuff and 40% affiliate links. By affiliate links, I mean I pin something on one of my sites listed above or to the affiliate offer if you can. So basically, they would end up on one of my Halloween sites. This is another way I generate traffic to them without relying on SE traffic.
