High efficiency cooking stove was theoretically designed and developed for a good combustion performance comparing to the traditional stove. The high efficiency cooking stove used in present day has its original designed width of air inlet port of 5x18 centimeter, which affects to air entering into the combustion chamber of the stove. The purpose of this research was to study and compare the width of air inlet port that affects the performance of high efficiency cooking stove. The high efficiency cooking stoves used in the experiment were collected from stove making manufacturer called “Satit Stove Factory”, which located in Trasaeng Sub-district, Muang District, Surin Province. The test was carried out by using water boiling test method.
The results of the test when using 3 different widths of air inlet port showed that the highest efficiency was about 25.67 percent for the stove with the original width of air inlet port. The efficiency of the stove with half-stove width of air inlet port was about 24.49 percent. While the stove with all opened air inlet port, that air can flow into the combustion chamber all direction around the stove, showed the lowest efficiency (23.05 percent).
