Right: Within a design that uses marginal headings or two different column widths, a combination of vertical fine and bold rules can help to determine the reading hierarchy.

IMAGE SELECTION The client may provide the designer with a set of images that are integral to a particular job, which leaves the designer with no say in the conent or design of the image and little say in the selection. However, the designer does have control over how the images are used and, when selection from a range of existing images, he or she should ensure that the selection 'tells the story' appropriately.

were all selected from the Gallery's vast collection of new and old works. The repeated use of strip images plays on the title and human nature- the reader's desire to see more.
