1. What if the tenancy manager has deemed me suitable for an NRAS property and requires my registration letter?
If you have recently applied to register for NRAS pending our further action, the property manager can request that your application be actioned as a priority by contacting us direct on 1300 880 882 or on email nras@hpw.qld.gov.au example subject line from property manager should read: URGENT Request for escalation by Tenancy Manager-Mr John Smith (12.12.1980)
2. I’m a permanent/temporary Australian resident what proof of residency do I need to provide?
· A copy of your valid Visa label within your passport;
· The other option is for clients to contact the Department of Immigration and Boarder Protection and complete a VEVO (visa entitlement verification online) http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/vevo.htm and send through your result or EVO (entitlement verification online) which will state your visa status;
· If you have indicated that you are a permanent resident, but are an Australian Citizen. An email to our mailbox nras@hpw.qld.gov.au from you advising of the error will be accepted and will be updated by us.
3. I’m a NZ citizen what proof of residency do I need to provide?
NZ Citizens that arrived in Australia on or prior to 26 February 2001 are eligible for NRAS. A copy of your NZ passport photo page and date of arrival will be required. NZ Citizens who arrived in Australia on their NZ passport since 27 February 2001 are not eligible for NRAS. You must apply for and be granted residency before being eligible to register for an NRAS property.
4. What now that I’ve been assessed, registered and been issued an NRAS letter?
Now that you are registered for NRAS, it is up to you as a potential tenant to locate and apply for suitable accommodation. Information about rental properties currently available can be found by following this link
