Pest populations within a facility can only be controlled if the environment allows control measures to perform at their greatest effectiveness. Each food processing building has a unique intersection of factors that must be considered to accomplish this task: the building's age, shape, construction material, geographic location, the training of its personnel, among other factors. Facility sanitation is another aspect that, while it may not be the sole factor influencing successful pest management, it may change how conducive the food processing environment is to pest population growth and sustainability.
