Non-point source pollution comes from many different sources. Point-source pollution only comes from one source. Trash dumping is a type of pollution and can be dumped into many places such as the ocean. When people use any type of watercraft on the ocean, oil and gas may leak into the ocean putting the marine life into harm ( non point-source pollution). Some effects of trash dumping is that the trash could get stuck on the marine life and choke them or make it hard for the marine life to swim. Sludge is solid waste matter that often has bacteria in it. Sludge dumping can kill marine life and pollute the ocean. Oil spills can also kill marine life and plants.
