The rice-pledging scheme, a major vote-winning policy of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, has accumulated losses of at least US%4.46 billion(141 billion bath) since it was introduced in 2011, the report said.
Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan said every government in the past incurred losses of 80 billion bath a year from rice subsidy schemes.
