The Department of State acknowledges the International Civil Aviation Authority Organization (ICAO) deadline, requiring all travelers have a machine readable passport by November 24, 2015. Please note that under U.S. law a machine readable passport is NOT required for visa issuing purposes. So long as an applicant presents a valid passport, a visa can placed in it.
Welcome to the Nonimmigrant Visa Homepage!
Thank you for your interest in traveling to the United States. We hope that this website makes it easier for you to select and apply for the proper nonimmigrant visa.
Nonimmigrant visas (also called visitor or tourist visas) are required for all citizens of countries not under the Visa Waiver Program who intend to enter the United States temporarily for business, tourism or study. The type of nonimmigrant visa you will need and the requirements to apply for that kind of visa depend largely on your purpose of travel to the United States.
To help understand which visa category you need, you can click HERE. Enter your passport nationality and your purpose of visit.
The Embassy provides step-by-step guidance on how to apply for a nonimmigrant visa and schedule your interview. You will find the instructions HERE.
For additional detailed information related to U.S. nonimmigrant visas, required documents, and the application process, please visit: www.ustraveldocs.com/th. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the U.S. Visa Service desk at support-thailand@ustraveldocs.com or call the call center Monday-Friday during 8:00-20:00 (except holidays).
Important Announcements
The Embassy strongly encourages intending travelers to apply for visas well in advance of their proposed travel, and to refrain from making irrevocable travel plans until they have received their passports with visas. Please note that there are no visa appointments on Thai and U.S. holidays.
