A manager who uses this style delegates authority to his or her staff, imparting responsibility to complete the assignments given to them this is also known as empowerment. Staff will complete the tasks using their own work methods. Even so, jobs are executed on time. Employees are included in decision making, giving them a sense of belonging and motivating them. Because they feel a sense of belonging and are motivated, the quality of decision making and work improves. On the negative side, a democratic management style can slow decision making down, as time needs to be taken for staff to be heard. Also, some employees may exploit the situation by not working to their full potential and allowing other staff to cover up for them or be exploited.
