STUDY SKILL Using keywords in research
To gat information on a specific topic you can use a variety of sources, including a library database and the Internet Use keywords to help you find the specific information you need. For example, to research the following essay : Discuss the effech of sports nutrition on the performance of athletes. Explain the key role of protein.
The keywords you need are
Sports, nutrition, athletes, protein
Note that in an Internet search marks, e.g. “sports nutrition” will produce results where these words appear together.
2 Work in groups of four. Each member should choose one of the presentation titles. Use the keywords to find information on the topics. Make brief notes and give a reference for the source (s) you used.
3 Explain to the rest of your group :
1. How you carried out the research (the keywords and the sources you used).
2. What information you found on the topic.
4 choose one of the following companies and research information on how it is involved in sports sponsorship. Use keywords to help you in your search.
