is a perennial parasitic plant distributed at

Taiwan.11 Its stems have been used for the treatment of
arthritis and hypertension.1 The only previous phytochemical
studies afforded the isolation of long chain alkanes, long
chain alcohols, long chain fatty acids, â-amyrin fatty acid
esters, â-amyrin acetate, betulic acid, and oleanolic acid.12
As a part of our interest in polyphenolic compounds, a
continuing chemical investigation was conducted on the
70% acetone-soluble fraction. In this paper, we report the
isolation and structural elucidation of three new phenolic
glycosides
