The phenotypic expression of style lengths were consistentwithin each accession but varied among accessions, even thosebelonging to the same species (Table 5). The style lengths in theDolichostylae (long style) group, including M. formosensis, M. aus-tralis and M. bombycis, ranged from 0.35 to 0.70 mm, whereas thestyle lengths in the Macromorus (short style) group, M. laevigataand M. alba, ranged from 0.08 to 0.23 mm. The accessions clas-sified as M. atropurpurea had variable style lengths ranging from0.32 to 0.83 mm and could not be classified into the Macromorusbut Dolichostylae. The grouping of the style length met the result incluster analysis and PCA on 20 vegetative traits and chilling require-ments as well as 9 representative characters.
