After 4 weeks, the mycelium covering the samples was first
washed away by adding 30 mL of sodium acetate buffer, pH
5.0. Conical flasks were shaken gently for 20 min at room
temperature. The sample was filtered using a filter paper
(Whatman, No.1). Kenaf biomass was oven-dried at 90°C
for 3 days and weighed to determine the weight loss. The
filtrate was poured into a centrifuge tube and centrifuged at
8500 rpm, 4°C, for 20 min. The supernatants were stored
at 4°C for further analysis.
