Seed germination percentage was significantly affected by the
degree of seed maturity (Fig. 3). Immature 30, 60, or 90 DAP
embryos or seeds did not germinate because embryos had not completely
developed and they were white or green. The highest seed
germination percentage and the shortest germination period were
observed in 180 DAP seeds, significantly higher than all other collection
periods; these seeds appeared grey-green in color initially,
then gradually appeared grey and brown by 210 and 300 DAP,
respectively.
