A. Participants
Participants in the study were 50 fourth year undergraduate students majoring in English for International Communication from the Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya in the second semester of academic year 2013. The instruments used for the current study consisted of IELTS speaking, listening, reading and writing tests and a questionnaire comprising ten questions each per language skill.
B. Data Collection and Analysis Procedures
The pilot test and the questionnaire were performed with students who are not the sample of the study on January 2014. After the trial, tests and questionnaires were revised and checked by experts for correctness before using with the target population on March 2014. Fifty participants took a set of IELTS test in the four language skills. For the IELTS speaking test, three assessors interviewed each student in about the same period by using IELTS speaking marking schemes, and for the writing skill they marked students’ writing separately by employing IELTs writing marking schemes.
