My parents are my inspiration in many ways. It is hard to put into words all they have inspired in me, they have molded and shaped me into the person I am today and who I hope to be in the future.

My dad has inspired me to be bold, stand up for my beliefs, go against the grain when necessary, be my own person, work hard, believe in myself and trust Jesus. This year he is retiring from his business, the business he built from the ground up – literally, he started in our basement and they now have 3 offices in 2 states. His entrepreneurial spirit is one that lives in me as well. I have seen the ups and downs, heartaches, headaches, triumphs, awards and everything in between that comes with running a business and he has done it extremely well and with integrity. My dad is talented, artistic, quiet, loving, strong, mindful, thoughtful, joyful, sensitive and the list could go on forever. But most importantly, he knows Jesus is his rock, salvation and is not ashamed to show his faith in our Lord.

My mom inspires me each day to live a life dedicated to serving our Lord through service to family and others in community. She has and continues to dedicate her life to serving our family, their church, friends and community by simply lending an ear to a friend, bringing a meal, planning surprise parties and generously giving to those in need. My mom has beaten cancer twice and both times has come closer to God and felt His Peace upon her as she struggled through surgeries, treatments and recovery. She inspires me to be a stronger woman of God, a loving wife and a nurturing mother to my boys. My mom knows how to love people well and continues to inspire and teach me how to love on others as Jesus taught us. She is loving, caring, sympathetic, kind, faithful, thoughtful and on and on.

As a person, they inspire me to love others as Jesus loved us. As a wife, they inspire me to love and serve my husband beyond myself. As a mother, they inspire me to always love, discipline in love and teach them well. As an artist, they inspire me to be myself and stretch in ways I never knew I could. Overall, they inspire me to be who I was created to be.

I hope these images can do justice to the love they share with one another and give you a glimpse into the last 42 years they have enjoyed with one another. Some are sweet, some are silly but all of them reflect who they are together, as a couple, as one! I love you both very mucho!! – Shayna
