With the people's increasing demands for comfortable, safe and
healthy buildings, it is clear that fossil fuels consumption and GHG
emissions will constantly increase in the building sector in China. In order to keep sustainable development and also achieve the energy conservation and mitigation of climate change, the building sector should be addressed in the low carbon sustainable development strategy. In order to achieve the overall energy saving and carbon reduction effectively, the priority need to be put on well understanding of the energy performance and GHG emissions in the building sector so that an effective approach can be raised to achieve effectiveness of co-benefits, namely, saving both energy use
and GHG emissions.
