2.3.2. Exercise
After teaching, there was a 20-min exercise program. The exercise was aim at stretching and strengthening the whole body’s muscles, especially in the lower extremities.
2.3.3. Discussion
The final part of the classwas a 40-min discussion. This program used a self-efficacy promoting strategy as developed by Rubin (2000), and adapted it to fitOAknee patients. Patients had themajor role in these discussions with the leader encouraging patients to identify their major problems when dealing with knee OA. This inspired a helpful atmosphere and resulted in constructive counseling; this occurred through the setting of their own goals by the participants, by practicing the ideas at home, and by the sharing of difficulties and experiences with peers in the group.
