Dual culture technique
All the Trichoderma isolates were evaluated for their
antagonistic activity against the pathogen under in vitro
conditions following the dual culture technique. Two mycelial
discs (5mm dia.) removed from the margins of actively
growing colonies of the test pathogen and biocontrol agent
were placed 5 cm away from each other on opposite sides
of 90 mm dia. Petriplate, containing about 20ml of Czapek´s
agar medium. The paired cultures were incubated at 25±10C
for 5-7 days and then scored for degree of antagonism on a
scale of class 1 to 5, class 1 being highly antagonistic and
class 5 being non antagonist as described by Bell et al.
