production. Selecting algae strains for biomass conversion into the energy, attention is focused on
those which are robust, highly productive, etc. (Spolaore et al. 2006). Strains with relatively high
lipid content are very attractive for biodiesel fuel production (Rodolfi et al. 2009). Currently biodiesel
fuel is produced mostly from rapeseed oil which is also used for food purposes (Montrimaitė et al. 2010).
In order to reduce a negative influence of biodieselfuel production on food consumption protection, it is necessary to look for new raw materials for biofuel production.
