PROJECT ENINEER
The Project Engineer is the head of a large scale irrigation project of about 50,000 – 300,000 rai. He is the manager of the project. We has the ultimate responsibility for all activities in the project and for the general functioning of the project in serving the farm lands and other users with irrigation water. He reports directly to the regional Director.
In this manual his responsibilities and duties are described on operation only.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The project Engineer is responsible for :
- Proper planning of the seasonal diversion requirements
- Proper planning of the weekly diversion requirements
- Proper allocation of the available water over the project area.
- Proper actual distribution of the available water over the cropped areas within the project.
- Promotion of efficient water usage among farmers in the project area.
- Final reporting on the activities in the project
- Proper functioning of the different sections in the project organization with special emphasis on timely budgeting and proper staffing.
- Provision of productive working conditions for the project staff.
