People, especially women, who have received less formal education have been shown to be associated with higher prevalence of
diabetes[29]. In Taiwanese, the incident rate of diabetes seems to
be highest during 55e64-year age range and women generally
surpass men after age 45[30]. However, we observed no crosssectional or longitudinal association of age, gender or the level of
formal education with diabetes in older Taiwanese according to our
regression models
