Early Alaska pea seed (PisumsativumL.) fromWestal Inc., Kiltanning,
PA, USA was surface sterilized in 75% ethyl alcohol with hand-shaking
for 30 s, rinsed 4 times with sterile Mill-Q water, immersed in 10% sodiumhypochlorite
for 3 min over a mechanical shaker operated at a speed
of 60 strokes per min, and then rinsed 10 times with sterile water.
