Besides facilitating seed production,producing biomass
sorghums as hybrids may also permit the exploitation of high parent heterosis for increasing biomass yields .Increasing feedstock
yields is among the most productive breeding goals for improving
the economic viability of biomass bioenergy,regardless of the crop
being used(Epplin etal.,2007;Towleretal.,2004). Superior yields
reduce the fixed costs per unit of energy ,particularly landand
transportation costs(Epplin etal.,2007)
