It remains to be determined whether these proteins
respond to RA stimulation even during meiosis initiation in
male mice. Thus, we chose the abovementioned four proteins
and Scp3 for further exploration.
The expression patterns of these proteins were validated via
Western blot analysis, and the results were highly consistent
with the results of the TMT quantification. Then, RAREs were
searched upstream of the transcriptional start sites of the three
genes (Pdcd4, Camk1, and Tfrc), and the 2-kb region before the
transcriptional start site for each gene was analyzed for a
consensus RARE sequence (AGGTCAXXXXXAGGTCA) [35]. Of
these, only Tfrc was found to have one RARE element in the
putative 2-kb promoter region, indicating that it might be RA
responsive.
