II. Aqueous extract preparation: Collected plant samples were washed with
distilled water to remove debris, dehydrated at 40°C for 72 hours, and milled
into fine powder through 1.0 mm sieve. Five grams of the residue powders of
shoot, rhizomes and inflorescences were separately placed into glass bottles
and extracted in 100 ml distill water for 72 hours at 20°C. The resulting
mixtures were then strained through 4 layers of muslin cloth, vacuum-filtered,
and stored in a freezer for later use. These extracted filtrates were designated as
100 % strength (Ghafoor 2002).
