The capacity of the extracts to scavenge ABTS•+ was carried
out according to the method of Pellegrini et al. [18].
The ABTS•+ was prepared by mixing an ABTS stock solution
(7 mmol/L in water) with 2.45 mmol/L potassium persulfate.
This mixture was kept still for 12–16 h at room temperature
in the dark. The ABTS•+ working solution was obtained by diluting
the stock solution in methanol (MeOH) to an absorbance
of 0.7±0.02 at 747 nm. 1 mL of the appropriately
diluted sample was added to 3 mL of ABTS•+ working solution
and mixed thoroughly. The reaction mixture was kept
at room temperature in the dark for 1 h, and the absorbance
was recorded at 747 nm. A reagent control was measured
by the same way.
