The May 22 coup has drawn mixed reactions from all sides of the political divide. Soldiers are greeted with flowers, food and water from army supporters. On the other side, some troops are insulted and harassed by those who are against the military take-over. Several gatherings in the past week almost got out of hand and have raised concerns of possible violence.
Despite the military's order to prohibit all types of gatherings and demonstrations, coup opponents still plan to rally nationwide. They plan to gather at several locations in central Bangkok. As for those living outside the capital, they plan to rally in front of their respective provincial city halls Photos by Post Photographers.
