Learning about quality in an organization is important for both the new employee and for the organization. New
employee orientation is a good way for organizations to start teaching new employees about quality-related
organizational philosophies and initiatives. It ensures that all employees start out on the same page, and receive the
same messages from the organization regarding these topics. Akdere (2006) argues that successful implementation
of quality management initiatives positively affects employee achievement and output, customers’ product
acceptance, and organizational survival. Organizations should be proactive in teaching prospective and new
employees about issues regarding quality. Organizations should also recognize that employee orientation is a
starting point for this type of training.
